Why book here

Closer to the trails. Better for the planet.

We surface hotels by proximity to the world's best mountain bike trail networks, then show you which ones have bike storage, wash bays and shuttles. Same price as anywhere else; every stay funds direct carbon removal.

Filtered by trail proximity

We rank hotels by how close they sit to the trails you came for: ride-from-the-door, short pedal, or quick shuttle. No more scrolling through 200 random properties to find the three on the right side of the valley.

Trails first

Bike storage on most listings

In MTB destinations the majority of hotels offer secure indoor bike storage: locked rooms, racks, sometimes CCTV. Each listing shows what's on-site so you can confirm before you pay.

Listed per hotel

Open to anyone, not just riders

These are regular hotels that happen to sit near great trails. Couples, families, non-riders, all welcome. Bring the dropper post or the swimsuit; nothing on the booking page changes.

Everyone welcome

Every stay is eco-friendly

IMPT funds direct air-capture carbon removal on every booking: one ton of CO₂ per stay. The trails you ride deserve the planet you keep.

How it works

Find a trail-side stay in three steps

Filter the world's hotels by where you want to ride, then by the amenities that matter to you.

1

Pick where you're riding

Choose a region or bike park: Finale, Morzine, Whistler, anywhere. IMPT surfaces hotels ranked by trail proximity, with their nearest network and distance shown on each listing.

2

Filter for what you need

Bike storage, wash bay, shuttle, e-bike charging. Toggle on whatever matters. Most MTB-town hotels cover the basics; less so further from the lifts.

3

Book at the same price

Same rates as Booking.com. Confirmation in seconds, carbon removal funded automatically. Pack the bike, show up, ride.

How IMPT works

Ride harder. Leave it better.

Mountain biking depends on what mountain biking is built on: forests, alpine ecosystems, snow lines, glaciers. The sport's footprint isn't enormous, but the airports and hotels that get us to the trails are. IMPT lets you fix the second half on every trip.

Every booking triggers direct air-capture carbon removal via Climeworks, the highest-quality removal technology available. One metric ton of CO₂ is permanently removed per stay, on top of a 5% contribution to a climate project of your choice.

Ranked by trail proximity

We work with 8 million+ hotels across 195 countries. This page surfaces the ones closest to recognised mountain bike trail networks and bike parks. First by distance, then by amenities you can filter for.

5% to your project

Pick reforestation, ocean plastic removal, clean cookstoves, solar, or direct air capture. Five percent of your booking goes there. Tracked in your IMPT wallet, every euro.

What to check before you book

Not every hotel claiming "bike-friendly" actually is. Here's what experienced riders look for.

Storage that's actually locked

"Bike storage" sometimes means a garden shed with a padlock. Look for a dedicated, indoor, monitored room with numbered racks, and check whether bikes go behind a digital lock or a brass key handed to anyone.

A real wash bay

Hose-only is fine for dust; for mud you want brushes, degreaser, drainage and a workstand within reach. Bonus points for a covered bay so you're not washing in alpine rain.

Trail proximity, properly

"Close to trails" can mean a 20-minute pedal on tarmac. Check whether the property is on a trail network, has shuttle service, or is a short pedal to a lift base.

Drying room & laundry

Wet gloves and pads kill morale on a multi-day trip. A heated drying room is the difference between a fresh day-two and a soggy one. Same-day laundry is gold for week-long stays.

Early breakfast & packed lunch

Big alpine days start before the cafés open. Look for breakfast from 06:30 and packed lunch optional. Saves you fumbling for a panini at a closed bakery in a French village.

Free cancellation

Trails close. Weather rolls in. Bones occasionally break. Booking with free cancellation up to 24–48 hours before check-in keeps your week salvageable.

Common questions

Mountain bike trail-side FAQ

Everything you need to know about booking a hotel near the trails.

Trail-side basics Setup

How does IMPT pick hotels for this page?
Every hotel here is filtered by proximity to a recognised mountain bike trail network or bike park, from on-the-trail to a short shuttle ride. The hotels themselves are regular hotels (anyone can book them); we just surface the ones closest to where you want to ride.
Can I bring my own mountain bike into the room?
Most dedicated bike hotels prefer bikes in a locked storage room rather than guest rooms, both for security and to keep rooms clean. Many properties offer per-bike numbered racks. Hotels that allow bikes in the room are noted on the listing.
Do mountain bike hotels rent bikes?
Many do. On-site rental ranges from hardtails through to full enduro and downhill rigs, and e-MTBs are increasingly standard. Properties listed as Rental on-site rent bikes directly; others partner with a shop next door.
Are there trail-side hotels you can ride from the door?
Yes. In purpose-built bike destinations like Finale Ligure, Morzine, Whistler and Sölden, a large share of properties sit directly on trails or within a few minutes' shuttle of the lifts. Filter by Trail access to surface them first.

Pricing & fees Money

Is there an extra charge for bringing a bike?
Most bike hotels include storage and wash facilities in the room rate. A small number charge a nightly bike-storage fee (typically €5 to €10). IMPT shows this on the listing before you book, never sprung on you at check-in.
Do hotels charge for the wash bay or tools?
At dedicated bike hotels, wash bays and basic tool walls are free for guests. Specialist services like full service, brake bleeds, and suspension setup usually go through a partner shop and are billed separately.
Are IMPT prices the same as Booking.com?
Yes. IMPT uses the same global hotel inventory and pricing feeds. In many cases prices are lower because we pass on a portion of commission as cashback. The eco impact is added at no extra cost.
What is the €5 welcome credit?
New IMPT users receive €5 free credit in their wallet on signup, no purchase required. Apply it to any hotel booking. Funded by IMPT, our way of welcoming you to the platform.

Eco impact & IMPT Impact

Does IMPT only list eco-certified hotels?
No. Eco certification excludes a lot of great independent bike hotels. Instead, IMPT funds direct air-capture carbon removal via Climeworks on every booking, regardless of the hotel's own certifications. Every stay is eco-friendly through IMPT.
How does the 5% eco contribution work?
At checkout you pick an eco project: reforestation, ocean plastic, clean energy, and more. Five percent of your booking price is routed there and tracked in your IMPT wallet under My Impact.
Is the carbon removal real?
Yes. We use Climeworks direct air capture. Atmospheric CO₂ is captured and permanently mineralised underground in Iceland. One metric ton per booking, third-party verified, with a serial number against your stay.
Can I charge an e-MTB at the hotel?
Most dedicated bike hotels now provide free e-MTB charging in the storage room, with multiple sockets and sometimes battery lockers. E-bike charging is listed under amenities on every IMPT listing.

Travelling with bikes Logistics

Are these hotels only for mountain bikers?
Not at all. Anyone can book. These are regular hotels that happen to sit near great trails. They're a strong pick for couples, families and non-riders who want a base near mountains, lakes and outdoor regions even if only one person in the group rides.
Will hotels accept bike boxes for shipping ahead?
Many bike-focused hotels will store boxes pre- and post-arrival at no charge. Confirm with the property before shipping. The policy is noted on the listing where available, and email confirmation costs nothing.
Do hotels organise shuttles to the bike park?
In bike-park destinations, yes. Usually a scheduled van service to the lift base every 30 to 60 minutes during the season. Shuttle service is listed as an amenity; some are free, some charge per ride.
Can I find guided rides through the hotel?
Most dedicated bike hotels work with local guides for half- and full-day rides. The hotel typically books on your behalf and the price is added to your bill. Filter for Guided rides to find properties that offer this.
